Manager (f/m) Environmental and Social Impact Assessment

Due to the continued growth of our Impact Assessment Services we are currently looking for an expert (f/m) for our German dependency near Frankfurt who will demonstrate excellent technical and social competence in team leading, project management and business development.

Your responsibilities

In your new position as manager (f/m) you will manage a wide range of Feasibility Studies, Environmental and Social Due Diligence Assessments, Impact Assessments and act as the direct link between the specialist areas and different parties. You are able to quickly grasp the environmental challenges of different sectors and industries on short notice and derive major risks, impacts and mitigation measures. As a manager (f/m) you will:

  • Conduct Environmental (and social) Due Diligence (E(S)DD) assessments, organization of and cooperation in international E(S)DD projects within M&A transactions and finance projects
  • Manage development of ESIAs and other specialist studies including subcontractor management
  • Demonstrate the ability to undertake critical analysis of environmental reports taking into account the project context and business needs
  • Work in close cooperation with colleagues from our international network and limited over-seas assignments
  • Be in charge of project coordination, partly quality assessment and quality control,  as well as budget responsibility as project manager
  • Responsible for project acquisition and business development

Your qualifications

  • You have a natural science-based degree/geoscientist degree
  • You have long-term relevant consulting experience and have worked internationally
  • You are knowledgeable and technically experienced in topics relating to high profile ESIAs, including compliance with international standards (e.g., International Finance Corporation, Performance Standards, Equator Principles, World Bank Standards)
  • You have extensive in-depth knowledge of environmental and/or social regulations
  • You have good relationships with project developers, financial institutions and ECAs
  • You are a successful project manager, trusted advisor and have sound experience in building long-lasting client relationships
  • You are a team player who enjoys working closely with a wide variety of people and teams (clients, peers, authorities, management, contractors, and NGOs)
  • You are meticulous and flexible in your work and have a high willingness to travel, valid driver’s license required
  • Your knowledge of the German and English language is excellent and you have very good writing skills, additional languages are welcome
  • Your behavior reflects an entrepreneurial mind-set and you are multi-disciplined with strong analytical skills
  • You have excellent presentation and communication skills as well as good MS-Office skills and a good understanding of GIS
